Summer Storm of 2010

Last Thursday we had a huge storm in Maine. This is the devastation in the campground after this very scary storm. This tree below is half covering the basketball court. This is the same tree from the other side.
At least there was a rainbow after

See the phone pole further down the street tipping
over? We were without power for a day and a half.

Brooke and Ricky being silly

How this missed the campers I don't know

This tree just snapped

and that's the rest of it

the wind blew from the back of our camper

a tree down behind our camper. Brooke was feeling
brave after it was over!

glad our furniture is plastic!

unfortunately, our neighbors wasn't

the top of this pine tree was sheered right off

this tree on the corner of our road, ripped out
at the roots

this apple tree was huge, how fast was that wind?

hail
they say this was a microburst. it was sweltering and thick with humidity right before the storm, and then we have ice all over the ground! Luckily, no one was hurt, and not much damage to anyone's campers.

Dear John

oohh, is he a hunk or what??? This was just okay as far as the movie goes, I have the book and haven't read it yet and I am hoping that it is a little bit better. But this is a typical Nicholas Sparks story set in South Carolina and it has its sad moments but it didn't really make me cry, only well up a little. :)

The Rising

I thought this was a fairly good horror story, it sometimes was a little out there, but the story kept you intrigued. Then I got to the end and it was one of those books that leaves you hanging so you really aren't sure what happens. SO frustrating!

The Last Song

This is the book that I read, I actually put the movie poster up as the pic but I am hoping to see it and I hope it lives up to the book. I am not thrilled that Miley Cyrus plays the lead, but I am anxious to see Greg Kinnear as the father. This book was very good and a real tearjerker.

Edge of Darkness

At first I thought Mel Gibson had lost his movie appeal when I started watching this, but I am glad I stuck with it because it turned into a pretty good movie.

a big slobbery kiss for Auntie

and another one

She loved the beach, the water was a tad chilly, and the wind was pretty strong so not too much time spent in the water. But that was okay because she was fascinated by the sand.
