Pictures (and they are not in order either!)

Kali went swimming at Steele Hill last night
She loves the water!
We went up to our camp yesterday, and

walked the beach

This is my smart daughter who got accepted

into two difficult-to-get-into nursing programs

for the Fall!!! Congrats Brooke!

I love the way her eyes look in this picture

Went to Newick's for lunch/dinner. Brooke got lobster

of course.
Even Louie came for some family time!
Look at his face in this picture, lol!
Gary got a baked seafood medley like a good boy,

I on the other hand got fried!!!

Even though the campground is empty, it was nice to

sit on our deck and enjoy the sun.

Sea Glass

I love every Anita Shreve book that I read. My mother-in-law gave me this one and I couldn't put it down. It is set in 1929-1930 in New Hampshire.

Paranormal Activity 2

So I shouldn't have watched this one, cause there is a baby in it about Kali's age. And a dog.

SPOILER ALERT:

Even though the dog gets dragged out of the picture by an unknown entity, it doesn't die, but is rushed to the vets, and you don't see it for the rest of the movie. Ditto with the baby, something happens to it but nothing too awful to watch. And yes, there is going to be a Paranormal Activity 3, and I guess that is when we find out what happened to the baby.

Just my luck it was really windy here last night and as I lay in bed reading, with my husband sound asleep, we got a huge gust of wind and I think a shingle came off the roof and knocked into the house, but it sounded like it was out in the hall. ugh. Scenes from the movie kept drifting through my mind until i fell asleep!

Without Mercy

At first it sounds like the answer to a parents prayers: an elite boarding school in the Oregon mountains where wayward kids turn their lives around. But behind the idyllic veneer lie disturbing rumors of missing students and questionable treatments....
This was a really good book, and the ending? I did not see it coming at all!

Never Let Me Go

This was not the greatest movie (where am I getting these movies??) But it did kind of keep my attention. There were no surprises, you knew exactly how the movie would end.

Happy 49th Birthday Gary

On our way to the restaurant for Papa's birthday
Shhh, don't tell her there is a bow in her hair!!

Papa and Kali

Pat and Brooke

Nicole and me
Gary's birthday is tomorrow but we went out to eat last night at the Common Man. I ate WAY too much. Bread, wine, salad, lobster mac n cheese. I didn't finish the mac n cheese so that I could have some of their delicious homemade ice cream!!

Purex Crystals

I was hesitant about using this new fabric softener. You have to put it in the bottom of the washer before you put your clothes in, and I never remember to do that and always have to scoop the clothes aside to pour it in. Also, how good could it work if it was going to be in the washer right from the start and not just get added at the rinse cycle? Turns out it works pretty darn good! I bought the purple bottle which is lavender and the laundry smells absolutely divine when I take it out of the washer and when I take it out of the dryer. I can't say that the clothes feel any softer than my regular Downy, but the smell is definitely better and stronger.

The Red Queen

This is Book 2 of Philippa Gregory's series. This tells the Tudor side of the story through the life of Margaret Beaufort who was ruthless in getting her son Henry Tudor to the throne. I can't wait until the next one!

Sweeping Up Glass

I bought this book at a yard sale last summer and I spotted it in my stack of books and decided to try it. I could not put it down, I was up late every night reading it. Great book!
This is the author's first book and I can't wait to read her next one, The Coffin Maker.

The White Queen

I love this author, and this book while not as good as The Other Boleyn Girl in my opinion, was still a page turner. I have The Red Queen too but I am going to read something different in between.
