What is with these movies and their crappy endings? This movie started out with good potential, and kept us enthralled most of the way, but the ending was really disappointing, especially because Gary guessed and ruined it for me! Monday, October 5, 2009

Doubt

This movie was puzzling. Even though I watched it carefully, I still don't quite understand the ending. Was he guilty or not? Did Meryl Streep believe she was wrong at the end? Definitely not a clear outcome, which I hate in a movie. I was impressed with Philip Seymor Hoffman in this movie, a serious role, (a far cry from Ben Stiller's friend in Along Came Polly . You know, the guy who "sharted" and had to quickly vacate the club scene. Hahaha!)
It did keep my interest though, and besides the unsatisfying ending it was okay.
Easy Virtue
This is the type of movie I put off watching, not remembering how it got on my Netflix list, I can only assume I read about it somewhere and stuck it on there. And seeing as how Netflix has been a little lax about getting me the "good" new movies, this is what got sent. I have to say I was surprised, but I enjoyed the movie. It isn't something I would ever rush to watch again, but it passed the time on a rainy Saturday. Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes. It's sad but true, I am now 47 years old. ugh. Slipping and sliding with increasing swiftness to 50. I spent my birthday in Maine, in my camper, in the pouring rain. Brooke has to work all weekend. Gary has to work all weekend. I spent my birthday night alone (Brooke went to the movies). So when there is no birthday cake being presented to me, I have no other choice than to microwave a Schwans brownie and load the top with Cool Whip. At least Louie spent the night with me, indulging in Cool Whip but no brownie. That's one good thing about dog's not being able to eat chocolate, I don't feel obligated to share!
Wednesday night we celebrated with Nicole and Eric, my birthday and her birthday. Gary and Brooke bought me a Wii!! and the Wii Fit along with it. I tried it out Thursday for an hour, it sure makes exercising a lot more fun. I still have 3 pounds to go to reach my 5 by Fair time, I am not too hopeful about that, and I have a lump of brownie and cool whip in my gut to back that up.
Thursday night we all went to my parent's house and celebrated their 50th anniversary with pizza and cake. Yes I know, sounds cheap right? But we gave them a big party a few years back, as my mother was afraid that her arthritis would be a lot worse by now and she wouldn't be able to dance. Turns out she has a whole new knee and probably could have boogied the Electric Slide no problem. I do have pictures of all these fun events and of course more pictures of Kali, but being the airhead that I am, I brought my camera up to Maine with me to download my pictures and put them on here, but not the cord to do it. duh. So they will be posted after this weekend. Now, I am going to critique the two movies I watched today.
