So I made these in my pancake puff cast iron pan, they came out just fine. Gary doesn't like them because the glaze has rum extract in it, next time (if there is a next time) I will use vanilla.

Winter Walk

Even though Brooke was coming down with some sort of flu yesterday, she took ibuprofen and went with me on a walk along the river. It was about 40 degrees and pretty chilly in the shade but nice in the sun.

This is the author that wrote Cold Mountain, it was a little strange and didn't explain things real clear, you had to read into it a lot. I wasn't too fond of the writing but I was intrigued by the story about a single woman living along out in the woods, suddenly having to care for her murdered sister's twins. The children have major emotional problems and she kind of just fumbles along trying to get them to open up to her. Then the man who murdered her sister is back in their lives and she has to try to save the children. I thought the ending kind of left you hanging, I wished it had been a little more explained.

Bad Teacher

I almost sent this movie back without watching it, Brooke saw it in the theater and she said it was really bad. But we decided to give it a try and I am glad we did, while it wasn't the funniest movie ever, it still was pretty good. Brooke watched it again with us and she even thought it was funnier the second time around.

Highlander for the Holidays

This was a good book, but then I think all of Janet Chapman's books are good. Time traveling magical Highlanders, gotta love them.
