Split Pea and Ham Soup

I made this in the crock pot today with the ham bone from the Christmas party last weekend. That along with the cheesy bread was the perfect dinner to eat in front of the fireplace on this cold winter's day. I don't think it even hit 20 degrees here today!

Another Winter Walk

On Friday we went for another walk along the river, trying to get in all the outdoor walking we can before the cold descends. Which it did today, it is all of 18 degrees out!

Eggnog Doughnuts

So I made these in my pancake puff cast iron pan, they came out just fine. Gary doesn't like them because the glaze has rum extract in it, next time (if there is a next time) I will use vanilla.

This Christmas

Yes, still reading sappy Christmas love stories. This has three stories in it and they were just so-so. I like the picture on the cover better than the stories!

Winter Walk

Even though Brooke was coming down with some sort of flu yesterday, she took ibuprofen and went with me on a walk along the river. It was about 40 degrees and pretty chilly in the shade but nice in the sun.
