Wedding Plans

So yesterday, Brooke and I went with Nicole and Nina to scout some wedding reception locations. Nicole is not getting married until October 2009 but you can never be over-prepared. The top two pictures are of Steele Hill Resort right here in Sanbornton, just up the street from me actually. They have beautiful views, and Gary and I had our wedding reception there 20 years ago in October. :) The man who runs the weddings is still the same guy who did ours. Nicole was not overly thrilled with the reception room which I could not find a picture of. I am totally guessing on costs because they will go up for next year. But an estimate for a wedding reception here is about $6500.
The third and fourth picture were from Gunstock Mt. in Gilford. You can actually have your ceremony on the summit of the mountain, and every one rides the chair lifts up. Is that cool or what?? The reception area was very large and the woman who showed us around was really nice. Nicole was not keen about the ceremony on the summit, she has her heart set on walking down the church aisle. An estimate for this one would be about $$5500, and that is really an estimate on my part because this is the only one I don't have the food prices on yet.
The fifth picture is Opechee Inn in Lakeport. This was Nicole's least favorite. I couldn't find a picture of the building they have the receptions in, but it was not at all attractive on the outside even though it was right on the water. Even the paving was yucky on the parking area. The inside was nice, really big, and they are re-doing it with new carpeting and window treatments. It would be the cheapest probably because of the way the outside looks, I estimate this one would be $4500.
The last picture is Church Landing in Meredith, the most elegant place. It also is right on the water, and the reception room is large and nice looking with beautiful chandeliers. This one is way out of our budget, not only do I estimate the reception to cost about $12,000 here, but you have to fill 10 guest rooms, and they have to stay for two nights. At $300 or so a night. right. And you have to have a minimum of 150 guests, I would like to see Nicole's stay around 125. So, there they are, she is leaning towards Gunstock at this point, If you read this and want to leave a comment let me know which one you think is the best....
